Free Time è l’album di debutto di Pinkunoizu (parola giapponese che sta per “rumore rosa”) in uscita il 27 marzo, che segue il brillante Ep dal titolo Peep.
Quartetto multiculturale con base tra Copenhagen e Berlino, i membri dei Pinkunoizu provengono da una precedente esperienza in una band più numerosa nota come Le Fiasko.
Il tema costante di Free Time è il tempo come melodia, che non a caso è il titolo della canzone che apre l’album Time Is Like a Melody, in un delicato giro di chitarra e un riuscito loop corale che sembra un saluto a un sole albeggiante.
Curiosa è Myriad Pyramid, che si apre con campanacci da gregge e prosegue come una sgangherata marcia tra le dune per una destinazione incerta.
Cyborg Manifesto si insinua stranamente con un sound soft-folk e riff Hawaiiani.
Everything Is Broken or Stolen con il suo hammond su un giro ipnotico è una lunga canzone forse più impegnativa delle altre, quasi introspettiva.
Il sole torna a risplendere con la buffa Parabolic Delusion dove compaiono addirittura dei fiati a dare manforte al coro.
The Abyss è una quieta immersione in acque profonde che sterza in un guizzo finale elettrico che sembra coincidere con un ritorno in superficie.
La lunga Death Is Not a Love sembra piazzarsi sullo sfondo come una canzone ambient che arriva ad assumere sonorità orientaleggianti e pop asiatico.
Si finisce con Somber Ground rilassante, riflessiva e intima che chiude con una sconquassata virata noise.
I Pinkunoizu fanno un pop innovativo con svariate influenze culturali e musicali, miscelando un lo-fi esotico a sonorità rock cosmiche, miste ad un folk psichedelico e celebrale, riportandomi vagamente
alla mente band sperimentali come i Lemon Jelly, la Beta Band e The Flaming Lips.
E’ un album davvero delizioso questo Free Time che, con una tessitura di battute ripetitive e accattivanti, sembra una compagnia perfetta per qualsiasi cosa stiamo facendo durante l’ascolto.

Multicultural quartet based in Copenhagen and Berlin, Pinkunoizu members come from a previous experience in a band largest known as Le Fiasko. The constant theme of Free Time is the time as melody, which not coincidentally is the title of the song that opens the album Time Is Like a Melody, a gentle guitar riff and a successful choral loop that sounds like a salutation to the sunrise.
Curious in Myriad Pyramid, which opens with flock bells and continues as a ramshackle ride through the dunes for an uncertain destination.
Cyborg Manifesto creeps curiously soft-folk sound with Hawaiians riff. Everything Is Broken or Stolen with his hypnotic Hammond on a ride is a long song perhaps more demanding than the others, almost introspective. The sun shines with the funny Parabolic Delusions where winds appear to give strong hand to the choir. The Abyss is a quiet immersion in deep water that swerves in an electric final twist that seems to coincide with a return to the surface.
Death Is Not a Lover seems to stay at background like an ambient song that comes to pop sounds of eastern Asia. Somber Ground is a relaxing, reflective and intimate song that closes with a shattered turn to noise.
Pinkunoizu make an innovative pop with different cultural and musical influences, mixing a lo-fi exotic sound, cosmic rock and a brain psychedelic-folk, that make me think to vaguely experimental bands like Lemon Jelly, The Beta Band and The Flaming Lips.
It 's a really delicious album this Free Time, that, with a texture of repetitive and catchy beats, seems a perfect company for whatever we are doing while we listen it.
